Baocheng Ma

Baocheng Ma is a Chinese artist based in London and Shanghai, an MA candidate in Contemporary Art Practice (Critical Practice) at the Royal College of Art. Working with sculpture, installation and moving image, he focuses his practice around notions including abject, psychosis, formlessness and political criticism. His work often employs the derogation of found object/footage, which exemplifies the subversive inclination against establishment and formality.

As an artist, I state that you are reading this text, a fact equally true as the fact of me writing it right now. I state that the two respective temporalities of us coincide and reconcile through the media of text. I also state that you are not reading this text, just like how I am not writing it, for there is no evidence nor corroboration. I state this statement is a falsification of itself, just like how your belief of having read it is comfortingly deceitful. I state as such, in the context of this extensively artistic webpage, for there is nothing more important to me to art’s regard.
