Zhong Xian

Zhong Xian (b. 1993) is an artist and independent animator based in Taipei and London. She majored in philosophy at university and become a self-taught animator in 2017. Since then she has been drawing every day.

Starting as a self-taught animator, Xian is good at expressing human emotions and thoughts in a simple, humorous and poetic way - best known for her comical little loops animation.

Xian has devoted herself to the study of surreal, absurd and humorous narrative animation, and the use of symbols in films, through the visualisation of abstract concepts in the form of animation. 

Telling a story through hand-drawing techniques, her latest film Vampire gives a mysterious and beautiful vibe about the relationship between a butterfly lady and a vampire man.
