Originally from London, I completed my BA in Painting at Chelsea College of Art, then worked in a betting shop for nearly eight years, moved to Nottingham, and returned to the compulsion of art making after finding a group of weirdos with similar tastes in art, comedy, and the occult. Working with live performance and video, my current interests lie in conceptual and material messiness, channeling, and collective euphoria. In September I moved into a guardianship property with 30 people I didn’t know, in a disused care home, and have solely made my work in this completely circular building with my housemates. In the resulting films, I re-visited ghosts of previous social dynamics in rituals built with the new ones, in a psychedelic time and space loop.
I will also be part of two collaborative events; ‘Sauna 3000’ on Friday 2nd July with Daniel Hopp and Shinhoo Lee, and ‘Sorry Crisps Ministry of Defence Rave Party’ on Sunday 4th July with Qingqing Liu, River Cao, and Joy Chia-Yu Yeh as part of CAP TV, and will feature on 'Tongue of blade ‡ Ears of mud', a limited-run cassette tape featuring artists from the Contemporary Art Practice programme.
