Yu Gao

Yu Gao is a fashion accessory and jewelry designer from London. With her work, she wanted to break the traditional way of making bags and tried more four dimensional structures with tapestry and mesh. Her goal is to build her own “tapestry system” to give wearers a customised experience. In the future, yugao will try different hardness mesh to achieve a soft texture of bag, so as to bring a better using feeling.

YuGao is a fashion accessory designer, working in 4D tapestry techniques. Inspired by old photos taken in her childhood, she classified “time” and translated digital mosaic images into aluminium threads tapestry. The four-dimension conception, as the combination of crafts and structures. Breaking through the traditional knitting concepts, yugao are aware of both physical and emotional interactions with wearers through the color of the metal as well as the changes in light, shadow and space.
