Since Bergson's art- The Theory of Time was put forward, the question of time has begun to enter the vision of aestheticians.  And in the theory of Life Impulse which he proposed is actually the basic source of power for human beings to engage in artistic creation, and can only be obtained by our own intuition and consciousness. This innate creativity cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence.

Therefore, I choose to use self-awareness as the fulcrum to explore the way of expressing conservation of energy between man and nature as time passes. Through the artist's personal perceptual differences with Bergson's Time Duration theory as the support, a brief analysis of more possibilities that the time loop has after jumping out of the conventionally defined framework. In addition, my practice combines various materials and methods, from printmaking, ceramics and sculpture to photography.

Future Portrait: 1000 Years from Now- Series One(2021)
Future Portrait: 1000 Years from Now- Series One(2021) — The characteristics of ceramics are its high hardness, high temperature resistance, and strong resistance to oxidation and chemical corrosion. Just as I create portraits in my works, they continue to accumulate energy in the flowing time and show their tenacious vitality.
Future Portrait: 1000 Years from Now- Series One(2021)
Future Portrait: 1000 Years from Now- Series One(2021) — The particularity of ceramic products shows that the process from clay to ceramic is an irreversible process after high-temperature firing. Just like creatures living in time, their growth laws are also irreversible. Although energy is conserved from the perspective of the entire large natural cycle, the energy of a single individual weakens over time and they will eventually die.

This series of sculptures referenced Bernini's sculptures Apollo and Daphne. My main idea is the conservation of energy in nature. As long as time is extended indefinitely and after countless material exchanges, humans will be completely integrated with nature. Therefore, sculpture can be regarded as a condensed record of a period of time.

CAUSAL LOOP(2021)
CAUSAL LOOP(2021) — 15.1×16.9cm / 10 pages/ Lino Print/ Japanese Binding/ Edition: 12
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 1/2
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 1/2 — The story I described is a dark fairy tale with a narrative about a girl going to explore in the forest. She encounters a tree full of mushrooms and thought it was special, so she took the camera to record the scene.
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 3/4
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 3/4 — When she checked the photos in the camera, she noticed a strange thing. . . . . . By using the flashlight in the bag, she discovered the hidden secrets in the photographic records.
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 5/6
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 5/6 — The shape of the roots of mushrooms is similar to human fingers. At this time, a group of mushroom villains appeared, and one of them covered the little girl's eyes.
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 7/8
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 7/8 — By turning the eye in the picture, you can see the underground scene where human corpses and plants are entangled with each other. Here I want to imply that material transformation has taken place between humans and plants, and they become each other. Here one of the mushroom villains tricked the little girl into eating the mushrooms which then began to grow in her brain.
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 9/10
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)-Page 9/10 — The mushrooms also grew in her intestines, until she finally became one of the mushroom villains. In the last scene, another girl came to take pictures in the forest and started a new story cycle. . . . . .
CAUSAL LOOP(2021)

Causal loop, there is a theory called the paradox of fate and time travel. For example, a tale about a boy whose parents died in a fire after he was born. When the child grew up, he developed the ability to travel back to the past and decided to save his parents’ lives, he found that he had accidentally knocked over the candle, which eventually started the fire. Throughout the entire timeline, the accident occurred in both the past and the future. The cause of the paradox of destiny is an effect and an effect is a cause.

We always think of time as moving in a single direction, just because our lives are so short. If time were circular, we could understand the existence of miracles that we cannot build today, such as the pyramids, because they are not in our past, but in the future.

Transform(2021)

This series mainly exists as an introduction to my sculptures, showing the process of conversion between people and flowers purely in the form of pictures. In this process, I tried two effects, color printing and black and white printing. The color set reflects the process of change through rainbow-like colors, while the black and white set allows people to focus more on the changes in the image itself.

In this series, my works came from the exploration of the relationship between people and time. Human beings always want to control everything and claim that man is the measure of all things. However, time is fair. People eat mushrooms when they are alive, but when they die, people melt into the soil and become the food for fungus. In the pictures, you can see the two elements clearly, mushrooms and hands. In my mind, the hands are the most flexible parts of our bodies, and we use them to hold onto things, to connect with the outside world, which is also a sign that we want to control our surroundings. We feel confident that we have time, because our memories are usually regarded as evidences of existence of time. Unfortunately, in the book called In Time and Free Will, Bergson mentions that human memory fragments are generated from the process of recollection to perception, from which he puts forward the concept. The process from recollection to perception tends to be triggered when something is seen or heard at the moment, and the process is not always the same. People are likely to bring the color of fantasy into their own preferences for a more vivid and enriched representation, and finally present an individualized world. In fact, time never belongs to anyone, we are just time travelers.
