		About
Emilia Schettino is a Mexican illustrator and animator whose work is known for her minimal characters, pale colours and organic shapes.
She has collaborated as a visual artist for different brands such as Google, Nespresso and Airbnb. Created illustrations for magazines like Elle, Marie Claire and Architectural Digest. And worked as an animator for the Mexican studio BASA. Her artwork has been shown in Mexican galleries, events and public spaces in Mexico City.
She likes to be part of all sorts of projects as she believes everything can be explained and explored through visual language.
What she enjoys the most is finding specific and unique ways of portraying ideas and thoughts based on what she has learnt, experienced and seen in her not very long but very visual life.
Statement

Animation and illustration have become the best way of communicating what I think, believe and experienced.
To me, the most important part of doing what I do, is to learn how to conceptualise and synthesise big ideas into visual media that can be clear for most audiences.
As a visual artist I like to think differently for each project. I’m on the constant search of finding new ways of portraying thoughts and finding unique approaches to what I’m working on; always through a minimal language.
I’ve always found inspiration in the little details of my culture, the regular days of my life and the female perspective of what surrounds me.
Stolen Flowers (Stills and Loops)
An animated short film about how fear can become an important aspect in our lives making us feel unsafe and paranoid most of the time. This story is based on what happens in countries like mine, Mexico, where a lot of women and girls disappear without leaving a trace and without finding justice.

Stolen Flowers
A montage of moments in the life of a little girl who is being persistently chased and haunted by her deepest fears. This marks the antitehsis between her whimsical past and her eerie present. Based on the situation that is happening in my country, Mexico, where many women and girls disappear and never find justice.
