Innovation Design Engineering (MA/MSC)
Celebrating 40 years of distinctive design-science collaboration between the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, the joint MA/MSc Innovation Design Engineering (IDE) Programme is proud to present the work of the graduating 2021 cohort. As populations around the world move to recognise the importance of achieving a conscious balance between the needs of economies, people and the planet, IDE students look for innovation by intersecting individual sensibilities and collective values, local perspectives and global horizons.
The ability to work in transdisciplinary contexts, harnessing the powerful combination of design and technology, are embodied within five themes: Planet Centred Design reflects a more enlightened understanding of the harmonious coexistence we need to work towards. Creativity and Craft explores new ways for craft and creativity to push the boundaries of tradition and enrich our socio-technological context. Through the theme of Inclusive Interaction we underline the value of designing for the widest proportion of the population. Experimental Interaction celebrates the opportunities arising from new human-technology dynamics. The global pandemic accelerates the need for utilising all our transdisciplinary potential for wellbeing and Enhancing Communication; 44 graduates collectively creating impact for the World.
