What’s the crack on commercial galleries?

This is intended as an open platform in which the role of the commercial sector, its importance (or lack thereof!) and where is sits within the larger Arts Ecosystem can be discussed. Commercial Galleries come in many different guises from the bluechip through to the wildly experimental. This spectrum of different approaches will be analysed and practicalities (consignment agreements, applications, percentages, representation etc) hopefully de-mystified. The world of commercial galleries can often seem purposefully opaque to artists emerging from art school - this is an opportunity to air any questions you might have!
