Interpretive Practices (Part 2): Round Table
Monday 28 June 13:00 (GMT +0)
WHO We are a group of VisCom students that share common themes and processes around the creation of visual languages and interpretative translations mechanisms in our creative practices. We however engage with this topic from different perspectives and towards different ends. We want to celebrate this diversity of methodologies informed by the same interest through a collaborative event. WHAT The series of events is spread over two days. The Roundtable (Part2) will be a conversation between us four and inviting two guests, Giorgia Lupi and Charlotte Landersdorf, whose works navigate in the same field of Interpretive Practices. We’ve sent them ‘provocation exercises’ to answer beforehand. These activities will take the form of a toolkit, providing them with a design system and instructions to experiment with and appropriate. The toolkit will have different units instructed by our individual practices: data visualisation, asemic writing, collaborative and interpretive drawing. We recognize the importance of physical engagement with material and decided therefore to design a physical format to send to the guests. The session will run by sharing their process, outcomes and how their practice relates to the process they went through the exercise.
