Statement

Dungeness' lack of infrastructure and job opportunities drive locals away from it, but this lonely atmosphere also attracts people who pursue a certain lifestyle to take a holiday here. Since it is impossible to save the population of Dungeness in the short term, it is better to develop this atmosphere into a special experience to attract more people to stay in this place.

Melancholy. This emotion with lots of sadness and a little joy can cure negativity. Like some sad songs we listen to and sad films we love to watch. I want to produce melancholy in Dungeness from the acceptance and relief of the negative. And I will kill people's happy expectation of traditional seaside atmosphere with the desolate.

THE JOURNEY IN DUNGENESS

TRAIN STATION OF THE TEARS

As the first stop, it started to make people feel sad (10%)

GLUM ICES

The second stop is a short transfer station, where people enter-and then leave, leading to a more melancholy journey.

THE DRIPS AND DROPS

The third stop is a sonar site left over from World War II. The atmosphere brought about by the war is undoubtedly painful. This abandoned site has now become a paddling pool.

HOTEL MELANCHOLY

As the saddest (100%) and important part of the entire resort, this place where people escape from urban does not try to force people to be happy.

THE LITTLE OBSOLESCENCE HOUSE

At the end of the experience, people still have to return to life and accept reality, so the value of melancholy returns to 50%, back to a pull of beauty and sadness. But after going through this process, it will become easier to accept grief.

Dungeness looks like a barren land with rudimentary infrastructure, but the beauty here is unique. This building uses the principles of old cameras and blue print technology to let people discover the beauty here.
